The Adventures of PR: Why I Fell in Love with Public Relations

As someone who loves adventure and exploring new places, I have absolutely found my home in the world of public relations. PR has taken me everywhere from remote locations, musical events, and tech meet-ups to winding trips on trolleys through wine valleys and the cenotes of Quintana Roo. Most importantly, it’s connected me to some of the coolest people on the planet. But beyond the travel perks, there are so many other reasons behind my love affair with PR.

One of the best parts of PR is playing matchmaker between businesses, the inspiring people behind them, and their unique voices. I love working with clients to find the right angle, the best audience, the way in - or if need be – the way around. It takes my love of journeying beyond flights and resort stays to the realm of communication, connection, and lasting impact.

Once it all starts to come together, it's time to share it with the world. That's where the real fun begins. Whether it's engaging with traditional media outlets, making influencer love connections, or crafting surprising social media campaigns, PR gives us the chance to get seriously creative with how we share our clients' stories. And when it all comes together, there's no greater thrill than seeing our clients featured in their favorite publications and getting the attention they deserve.

The truth is, none of this is possible without building meaningful relationships with key industry players. As a PR pro, it's my job to invite journalists, influencers, and other big hitters into a magical world that celebrates the best of business and personal relationships. And as someone who loves meeting new people and hearing their stories, it's basically like being a pro-level social butterfly.

And then there are the events. PR events are like the lovechild of a party and a marketing machine. They're where we get to create the most unforgettable experiences that truly bring our clients' brands to life. And whether we're throwing a product launch, a charity fundraiser, or a swanky VIP dinner, it's all about taking things to the next level. From concept to execution, seeing a PR event come together is like watching magic happen in real time.

So there you have it, my fellow wanderers. There are a million and one reasons why I am a huge fan of PR. From the thrill of the chase to the satisfaction of making big things happen, it's a career that's full of surprises and always keeps me on my toes. And honestly, what could be more fun than that?
